Adaptive Bitrate Streaming for Media Player
Adaptive Bitrate Streaming for Media Player
Updated over a week ago

Today’s webinar viewers are accessing video content across more devices and connection speeds than ever before.

Adaptive Bitrate Streaming (ABR) enables webinar.net to reach these users — no matter if they’re using mobile phones in an off-the-grid area or a 4k smart TV hooked up to Ethernet — by dynamically switching between different bandwidths.

  • Ensures the audience receives the best possible experience based on their circumstances.

  • Mobile viewers benefit from automatic bitrate adjustment, optimizing stream quality.

  • Immediate adaptation to higher bitrates upon logging in as an attendee in areas with stronger signal strength.

  1. Within the Media Player, click on the gear icon to view or change your Adaptive Bitrate Streaming.

  2. The list will include all available options.
    Checkmark Display:

    • Indicates your selected or default option based on Internet bandwidth.

    • Default set to 360p, labeled as "Auto (360p)" at the bottom, signaling the best choice for your bandwidth

You may toggle up or down at any time. And if your Internet bandwidth gets compromised at any time, you can switch to an Audio Only option.

    720p (HD 1280x720)

    • Audio Bitrate: 128 kbps

    360p (Standard 640x360)

    • Audio Bitrate: 128 kbps

Safari (Desktop or mobile) does NOT provide ABR quality options. Safari does ABR automatically therefore we cannot control the option for Safari.
