Virtual Background is either a photo, a video, or an effect you can use to replace or blur your background during your webinars. Why would one do it, though? Number one reason, for many, would be to avoid such a situation:
We recommend the following solutions:
Windows 10+
Manycam - The quality of the virtual background is very good and uses a moderate amount of CPU/GPU resources
Chroma Cam - One of the best virtual background we've seen, especially in low-light testing. However, required higher than expected CPU/GPU resources.
MacOS 10.14+
Chroma Cam - One of the best virtual background we've seen, especially in low-light testing. However, required higher than expected CPU/GPU resources.
Linux (PopOS! 21.04/Ubuntu)
OBS (Open Broadcast Software)
Virtual backgrounds on Linux are doable but not implemented well. Existing solutions are built off "green screen masking" technology , and thus use no depth information from the camera to mask out the background.
